Narrative Text: The Story of Toba Lake

From: http://matiolestari.blogspot.com/2013/06/contoh-narrative-text-pendek-bahasa.html

Once upon a time, there was a man who was living onsumatera. He lived in a simple hut in a farming field. He did some gardening and fishing for his daily life.

One day, while the man was do fishing, he caught a big golden fish in his trap. It was the biggest catch which he ever had in his life. Surprisingly, the fish turned into abeautiful princess. He felt in love with her and proposed her to be his wife. She said “Yes, but you have to promise not to tell anyone about the secret that I was once, a fish, otherwise there will be a huge disaster”. The man made the deal and they got married, lived happily and had a daughter.

Few year later, his daughter would help bringing lunch to her father out in the fields. One day, his daughter was so hungry and she ate her father’s lunch. Unfortunately, he found out and got furious, and shouted “You damned daughter of a fish!”.  His daughter ran home and ask her mother. The mother started crying, felt sad that her husband had broke his promise.

She told her daughter to run up the hills because a huge disaster was about to come. When her daughter left, she prayed. Soon there was a big earthquake followed by non-stop pouring rain. The whole area got flooded and become Toba Lake. She turned into a fish again and her husband became the island of Samosir.

AMAZING STRUCTURE: Arc De Triomphe, Paris, France.

Hello everyone! So I’m back and I will tell you one of amazing structure. And I’m gonna tell you one of many amazing structure in Paris. And that’s Arc De Triomphe! I really like this building because there’s a story about this building that involved with the growth of Islam in Europe, and so related with Napoleon Bonaparte, but I won’t explain the story here, hehe… So let’s start!

Arc De Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. Arc De Triomphe Located in Challiot Hill, at the western end of the very famous boulevard, Champs de Ellysee, Paris. Arc De Triomphe honours those who fought and died for France  in the French Revolutionary and the Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Beneath its vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.

The monument stands 50 metres (164 ft) in height, 45 m (148 ft) wide and 22 m (72 ft) deep. The large vault is 29.19 m (95.8 ft) high and 14.62 m (48.0 ft) wide. The small vault is 18.68 m (61.3 ft) high and 8.44 m (27.7 ft) wide. Its design was inspired by the Roman Arch of Titus. The Arc de Triomphe is built on such a large scale that, three weeks after the Paris victory parade in 1919 (marking the end of hostilities in World War I), Charles Godefroy flew his Nieuport biplane through it, with the event captured on newsreel.

It was the tallest triumphal arch in existence until the completion of the Monumento a la Revolución in Mexico City in 1938, which is 67 metres (220 ft) high. The Arch of Triumph in Pyongyang, completed in 1982, is modelled on the Arc de Triomphe and is slightly taller at 60 m (197 ft).

This monument is planned by Napoleon Bonaparte since 1806,the construction procces takes about 2 years.
Jean-Pierre Cortot,  François Rude,  Antoine Étex,  James Pradier and Philippe Joseph Henri Lemaire are the Major academic sculptors of France are represented in the sculpture of Arc De Trimphe.

In the attic above the richly sculptured frieze of soldiers are 30 shields engraved with the names of major French victories in the French Revolution and Napoleonic wars. The inside walls of the monument list the names of 660 people, among which are 558 French generals of the First French Empire, The names of those generals killed in battle are underlined. Also inscribed, on the shorter sides of the four supporting columns, are the names of the major French victories in the Napoleonic Wars.

From 1882 until 1886, the monumental sculpture by Alexandre Falguiere, "Le triomphe de la Révolution" (the Triumph of the Revolution) topped the arch. It depicted a chariot drawn by horses preparing "to crush Anarchy and Despoitsm". It remained there only four years before falling in ruins.

Hey, everyone. It’s been a long time since my last post, miss me? J Do you know that there’s an event at Lapangan Bali (Bali Street no.8) on 27th of September? If you don’t know, I will tell you. In MATSWAPATI, SMAN 3 with contribution with some guest star etc. presenting JAWA BARAT CULTURE such as Wayang Golek, Angklung, Calung, Benjang, Reog, Jaipong, and many more. And some school’s ekstrakulikuler also performing in MATSWAPATI (KPA-angklung, KV-kelompok vocal, etc.) and they’re soooooo impressive.

Now I will tell you about the parade! We (10th grade student), some elementary school, and some junior high school student attended the parade, the parade start at lapangan Bali until we go back to Lapangan Bali again, and somehow my class (X-Science 3) Won the parade YEAAY! In parade, we wore um I don’t know maybe it can be called as headband(?) made by black carton written ‘MATSWAPATI’ and we also sing a song that we made so loud, I think that’s why my class win the parade. In parade, we take so much photos, it’s so fun.

Next I will tell you about the performances. I saw so many performances which is so impressive, cool, stunning, etc, I’m sooooooo excited!! But I don’t bring my phone everytime so I just take some pictures when KPA perform and when Glenn Fredly perform.

From all performance, my favorite is when Wayang Golek performing, they didn’t just perform old wayang like cepot, semar but the also create a story that featuring modern artist, and the story is so funny, it makes the audience laughed. I also liked when KV & Barsena performing, their vocal is so so so so so goodddddd. And finally the night come and…. Glenn Fredly performance time!! I was so sad because I can’t watch him so close, but I still happy because I can still saw him directly. But I can’t watch all his performance because I had to go home. L

And I want to say thank you for all who organize this event especially the committee, I’m so proud with my school.

UNFORGETTABLE DAY

Hello, I’m back! Now I will share one of my unforgettable experiences when I was at 9th grade. I was going to take photos for my school’s memory book, and then this happens.

The photographers told us that the photo session will be on Sunday, January 19th at 9.00 a.m but it’s cancelled so I and my friends go to the mall because we don’t want to go back home early. Then the photographer told us that the photo session will be held at Friday, February 14th.

The day had came. So after school, I and my friends went to sabuga to take photos, that day was the schedule for ‘hippies’ theme and just some of the student, and many of them are girls.

In the middle of the photo session, I saw my boyf came and I’m shocked like ‘WHAT IS HE DOING HERE’ so I take off my wedges by reflex because I know he will tease me like ‘why are you wearing them? I know because you’re short right?’ between his laugh, lucky me he didn’t saw me wearing those painful wedges so I feel okay=))

After the photo session, we talked a lot of funny-not important-things and finally he asked me to go home together (by public transportation). While we in front of the UNPAD Campus, he asked me ‘Do you bring much money?’ I answered ‘not so much, why?’ ‘Let’s buy some DVDs, you buy me one’ and laugh and I think like “what type of boyf are you why you just ask me to buy you a DVD” but I just say ‘okay, just for this time’ how fool am I, right? =)) after buy DVD, he didn’t want to use the ‘angkot’ again and he force me to go home by foot L how weird is he, right? But when we arrived at gasibu, I force him to use the angkot again because my feet are tired.

And then I arrive at home, and that day is passed! I don’t know why this day is one of my ‘unforgettable’ day but everytime I remembered this moment, I always smiled. And so the story is finished. What do you think? Bored? Weird? Or what? So I want to thank u for whoever who read this not obvious story.
